Seafood Legacy

We aim to raise a high-quality Salmon in a sustainable and environmental friendly way directly in the local marked. A freshly harvested fish will be distributed by using local transporters, and all fish handling will be done locally in Galicia.

Today most of the salmon eaten in Spain are produced and transported from Norway (70.000 tons/ year). With a land-based salmon farm in Burela we will move a small amount of the production close to the consumers. By doing this we will not only offer a day fresh salmon in the marked, but we will also move a small amount of the value creation and jobs to Galicia.

RAS- Recirculating aquaculture technology

The recirculating aquaculture system is a modern, resource-friendly, and environmental type of aquaculture. All water for the facility will be pumped directly from the ocean and by desalting create perfect environment for the fish we produce. The highly filtered water will stop all potential diseases so the fish will grow and thrive in tanks entirely free from chemicals and antibiotics. By constantly monitoring and adjusting the water quality, Oxygen levels and temperature we will create perfect conditions for the fish.

The result is a fresh, healthy fish sustainable produced at the highest animal health standards.

RAS- Recirculating aquaculture technology

By using the latest technology for closed water cycle systems, our facility will reuse as much as 98% of the water. The small amount of exchanged water will pass through both mechanical and UV-filtration and will be cleaner by it’s return to the ocean than when we first pumped it into the farm.

The closed system will make it impossible for fish to escape and allows us to collect all excrements from the fish. The collected excrements will be dried and used as fertilizer in the agriculture.
